The 4th Wall: Youth Solidarity Forum & Exhibition

The 4th Wall: Youth Solidarity Forum & Exhibition

Presented by: ART GALLERY OF ONTARIO & Michaëlle Jean Foundation

The AGO has teamed up with the Michaëlle Jean Foundation to launch a national art competition for youth ages 14 to 30 themed around LGBTTI2S2Q solidarity. This project gives visibility to the often-invisible experiences and creativity of young members of Canada’s diverse LGBTTI2S2Q communities and leverages the power of youth art to engage Canadians in promoting inclusion and human rights. Youth from across the country have submitted digital designs, and a shortlist of six finalists has now been selected. Public online voting is taking place throughout May. The winning artist will be announced at a free Youth Solidarity Forum and dialogue at the AGO on June 22. The 6 finalist’s designs will be mounted in the Youth Solidarity Exhibition in the Community Gallery at the AGO, opening June 22. The winning artist will also be mentored by an established street artist, and their design will be mounted in the Grange Park neighbourhood.
