Rights of LGBTQ Families and Students in Schools: Grades 6-8

For parents and caregivers of children in Grades 6-8 in TDSB schools

What writes do LGBT families have in schools? What about LGBTQ identified students? How should our families be talked about and celebrated? What about gender identity? Can students at this age form Gay-Straight Alliances? What if my student needs access to an all-gender washroom? We will discuss rights of LGBTQ students and families, advocacy in the school system, and celebration in schools. We'll include policy and legislation and what to do if things are going wrong. There will be time for questions!

Will discuss rights of LGBT families, advocacy in the school system, celebration in schools. Through engaging facilitation parents and caregivers will be provided with helpful tools relevant to the age(s) of their children.

Child minding will be available for you to enjoy the presentation.
