Rising Up for Faith and Freedom

Rising Up for Faith and Freedom

This is a WorldPride affiliated event that will include a presentation by Rev. Dr. Nancy Wilson, the Global Moderator of Metropolitan Community Churches, on Eradicating Human Trafficking/Modern Day Slavery:

There are more slaves in the world today than at any point in human history. Human beings are trafficked for labor, for domestic service and for sexual exploitation. LGBT youth are disproportionately represented in this global populace, estimated to be as high as 27 million people. We can end slavery in our lifetimes.

This workshop will provide information on human trafficking and focus on 5 areas of activism that will lead to eradication.

Following the presentation there will be:
· Remarks on Human Trafficking in Canada by Beverley Wybrow, C.M.
· Remarks on the Global Justice Institute by Rev. Dr. Jim Merritt
· Q & A session
· Book-signing with Rev. Dr. Nancy Wilson
· Social and networking time!

This is a free event but we encourage you to register as space is limited.

This event is wheelchair accessible & ASL interpretation will be provided.
